Hi, I’m Alexis!
I am a Creative Strtategist based in Washington, DC with a degree in Graphic Design from George Mason University. My career spans architecture studios, design agencies, and fourteen years at a PR firm where I helped build exciting and powerful brands across many industries.
My work focuses on identity systems and visual storytelling across restaurants, retail spaces, and lifestyle businesses. My expertise moves across many surfaces including logos, websites, packaging, apparel, murals, menus, wedding suites, uniforms, trade shows and infographics. My greatest accomplishment is branding sixteen restaurants across the Washington, DC region as freelance projects.
My design style favors bold choices over safe ones, strong typography, memorable visuals, and brand systems with personality. I value reliability, punctuality, and thoughtful collaboration, and clients trust me to turn rough ideas into clear, lasting brand identities.
A few creatives shape how I think about design and storytelling:
David Carson
Kristy Campbell
Allen Peters
Aaron Draplin
David Lynch
Jason Murray
Outside client work, creative energy moves into slower hands-on practices such as calligraphy, typography study, linoblock printing, macramé, painting, and gardening. Meditation also plays a role in my life through the Transcendental Meditation organization.
Home sits in a colorful house in Washington, DC which I purchased in 2011. After years with two dogs and three cats, I now enjoy a quieter house and the freedom to travel for long stretches when work allows.
My early years involved constant movement. I was born near Boston, moved to West Virginia at age ten, then settled in Northern Virginia for high school. Before graduation I had attended six schools across five cities, which built a comfort with new environments and new people, along with an ability to form connections quickly and work easily in any social setting.
